May long weekend is finally here! What better way to unofficially kick off the start of a beautiful Nova Scotia summer than with the perfect Caesar? Combine that with sunny weather, delicious appetizers, cycling as well as cheering on your fellow Blue Nosers and it’s pretty much the perfect weekend.
Tuesdays at Five Fishermen
$5 appetizers just in time for you to pop in after work, what a deal! After 5 p.m., the Five Fisherman Restaurant & Grill have five apps to choose from for just $5. While you’re there, grab a bottle from Garrison Brewing Company. Not a bad way to end your work day.

May 18: National Caesar Day
National Caesar Day conveniently falls on the Thursday before the long weekend. Get an early start and ease your way into it with a mouthwatering Caesar. Head on down to one of the participating Taste members celebrating the day: 2 Doors Down Bar + Bites, 2 Doors Down Food + Wine, Little Oak Bar and Lot Six Bar & Restaurant.
May 19 to 21: Blue Nose Marathon
The annual Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon is this weekend. To avoid hitting a wall, carb-loading is a great way to keep your energy up. Have a marathon-style dining experience by walking to a few different downtown Halifax locations. Start with appetizers at Stubborn Goat Gastropub, then head over to Primal Kitchen for a protein-rich dinner. End the night with a stroll down to Morris East for dessert.
May 20: Sip, Savour and Cycle
Where will you find another event like this? Foodie and fitness enthusiasts will love this- cycling, food, and drinks all in one event. Participating Taste members include Ironworks Distillery, Atlantica Oak Island Resort and Old Fish Factory.

May 22: May (Two-Four) Long Weekend
It’s May two-four weekend! Pick up a couple of brews from Garrison Brewing Company, Rare Bird, Boxing Rock or Propeller Brewery this week – enjoy the long-weekend and kick-off camping season.

May 26 – Downtown Dartmouth Picnic in the Park is one big community picnic to enjoy with friends and family. Feel free to pack your own lunch or grab a lunch to go from a downtown Dartmouth restaurant like The Canteen or Humble Pie.
May 27 – East Coast Cider Festival – This is Nova Scotia’s inaugural cider festival! Keep an eye out for Taste members including: Bulwark Cider, Annapolis Cider, L’Acadie Vineyards, Meander River, Planters Ridge, Heartwood & Meadowbrook Meat Market.
May 27 –Northumbeerfest at Pictou Lodge Beach Resort – A festival celebrating great Nova Scotia craft beer and entertainment alike.
May 27– Block party, anyone? Stop by the Nook & Cranny for a fun-filled evening. Be sure to stop by Taste member Coldstream Clear Distillery.
June 9 to 11 – Ravenous for Rhubarb Festival is celebrating it’s 10th year. From charitable rhubarb jam to rhubarb pie bake offs. Make a stop at Coldstream Clear Distillery, who will be serving Rhubarb Cocktails all weekend long.
June 16 to 18 – A Taste of Devour – In partnership with Fox Harb’r Resort, enjoy a weekend indulging in the finest local wines, fresh oysters, and the best of film at this international festival!
