August 21: Charlie Millard at The Carleton

Join indie-americana musician Charlie Millard for a solo set at The Carleton on August 20. The show is free so head on down for 6 p.m. to grab a seat and dinner with a show!

August 22: Live at the Lodge

Join Pictou Lodge on Thursday, August 20th for their popular Live at the Lodge series! Come for great entertainment, great drinks, great food, and great times! Music starts at 8 p.m. and is first come first serve.

August 22: Yoga at Petite Riviere

Come practice fusion flow yoga with Donna from White Light Yoga in the beautiful tasting room at Petite Riviere Vineyards and then stay for a glass of wine on the patio. Bring your own mat, water, and props if you have them! Drop-in cost is $15 or $60 for a five-class pass. Yoga begins at 5:20 p.m.

August 23: Acadian Kitchen Party
Argyler Lodge Haddock Francese

You are at the centre of this authentic Acadian Kitchen Party at Argyler Lodge and Restaurant! During this fun-filled evening, you will be tantalized by local flavours and captivated by regional musicians and storytellers. August 24: A Cole Harbour Long Table Dinner

Held in the central Cole Harbour Heritage farmyard under the marquee tent, enjoy the delicious flavours of a Nova Scotia August against the backdrop of 200 years of farming heritage. This 4-course feast is sourced directly from the farm gardens and farming partners. Included in the price of your meal is a drink ticket for a glass of local craft beer or cider (additional alcoholic beverages may be purchased). Non-alcoholic beverages plus tea and coffee included. Tickets are $69. Event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

August 24: Biodiversity Tour & Wine Pairing

During this two hour tour and tasting at Benjamin Bridge, guests will be guided through five hand-selected wines from their cellar which capture the true essence of their terroir. As you make your way through the estate, you will be treated to small bites prepared by one of their favourite local chefs. Tickets are $60 each. Event runs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

August 25: Prime Rib & Salmon Buffet

Every Sunday until October 6th, enjoy a prime rib & planked salmon buffet in the Riverside Dining Room at Liscombe Lodge Resort 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost is $31 per person + tax with a half price discount for children 6-12 (under 6 are free). Reservations are suggested by calling 902-779-5001.

International Night of 1000 Fiddles (August 30): Glenora Distillery is pleased to announce the International Night of A Thousand Fiddles where tehy are hoping to establish a world record of the most fiddles played on one night worldwide. To participate and be a part of this historic event, play the tune “Fiddler’s Choice” or a reel of your choosing on the night of August 31, 2019 in your home or wherever is convenient. Then let them know you participated by emailing info@glenora1.ca.

Meet The Brewers (August 31): Meander Farm & Brewery owner Alan Bailey will lead a guided tasting followed by a mini brewery tour. Appetizers from Gold Island Bakery will be provided to complement the brews. Designated driver tickets are available which will include non-alcoholic drink options.

Liscombe Hiking Adventure (September 7): In partnership with Hike Nova Scotia, Liscombe Lodge is proud to host the “Hike-Eat-Stay” weekend getaway. Hike with them as they explore the Liscombe River Trail and cross the suspension bridge overlooking the waterfall and nearby fish ladder with guide Lori Taylor.

Avondale Garlic Festival (September 21): Mark your calendars for the 7th annual Avondale Garlic Fest, coming up on Saturday, September 21st! Celebrate Nova Scotia’s many garlic growers while enjoying live music, fine art, great food, cooking demos and more at Eastern Canada’s largest garlic festival, all happening on the picturesque Avondale Sky Winery grounds.
