What’s Cooking July 3 to July 10?

The summer sunshine has arrived so this week we’re sharing lots of activities to help you get outside and enjoy it! Sip on locally crafted cocktails while listening to live music on a patio or head to Cape Breton for some water activities. To top it off, Wines on the Water is back for another summer of local wine and stunning views on the Tall Ship Silva.

And don’t forget to grab your lobster bibs and passports because here at Taste of Nova Scotia, July is dedicated to our world-famous lobster! All month we’ll be indulging in delicious lobster dishes and interactive experiences. We can’t wait to share our lobster love with you!

July 5: Live Music & Martinis!

Join Le Caveau as they kick off their weekly live music and martinis night. Each week they will be hosting a live band and mixing up unique cocktails to sip on while you’re dancing the night away. This week, the Mark Riley Project will be taking the stage and the Authentic Seacoast Company will be taking on the bar in the courtyard for a fun-filled evening.

July 7: Summer Kitchen Parties

The Old Fish Factory Restaurant and Ice House Bar will be hosting Summer Kitchen Parties featuring live music and local food and beer all summer long! This week, Garrison Brewing Company and The Buchanan’s will be teaming up for the evening to produce an amazing local experience. To top it off, their all day menu is filled with the freshest Atlantic seafood, from stuffed haddock to a traditional Nova Scotia lobster feast.

July 11: Wines on The Water

We’ve got just the solution for everyone’s least favourite day of the week… Wines on The Water! Luckett Vineyards will be hopping on the Tall Ship Silva again this summer to create a whole new meaning for wine Wednesdays. The evening includes a tour and tonnes of local seafood paired with a variety of Luckett Vineyards wines.

Sampling: Rosetta, Phone Box White, Phone Box Red, Ortega and Tidal Bay.

July: Cabot Links Water Activities

Head over to Cabot Links in beautiful Cape Breton for a weekend filled with water activities for the whole family! They offer a variety of kid and adult friendly activities that are the perfect combination of exercise an fun. Everything from sea-kayaking, tubing, paddle boarding and everything else you can think of doing in the ocean! When you’re finished spending your day in the Atlantic, make sure to check out the Panorama Restaurant’s classic and creamy East Coast Seafood Chowder!

July: D’Vine Morsels Restaurant

D’Vine Morsels Restaurant is now open for the summer 2018 season! Enjoy a meal or a glass of wine while looking over the vineyards of Avondale Sky Winery. This seasons menu is filled with amazing muscles, oysters and other Nova Scotian classics. Make sure to enjoy over your meal with the new 2014 Benediction, a traditional method sparkling.

Nine Locks Lawn Party (July 14)— Head to Rhubarb Restaurant for an evening of live music, mussels and Nine Locks draft.

Vino & Vinyasa Summer Session (July 15) —  Planters Ridge Winery is hosting an outdoor yoga class overlooking their vineyard. To top it off, class is followed by a tour AND wine tasting.

Trivia Night  (July 17) — Put your knowledge to the test at The Old Fish Factory‘s Trivia-Tuesday! Don’t miss out on an evening of drinks and trivia at the Ice House Bar.

Collaborative Dinner Series (July 26) — Chef David Woodley will be at The Watch That Ends The Night for a night filled with Thailand inspired drinking food.

Summer Kitchen Parties (August 4) Join The Old Fish Factory for an evening of local craft beer and great food!

Nova Scotia Summer the Traditional Cantonese Banquet Menu (August 7)— The Orient Chinese Cuisine is changing up their menu for the evening and taking on a traditional Cantonese feast.

Avondale Garlic Festival (September 16) — Join Avondale Sky Winery as they host the Garlic Festival. Great music and garlic inspired food all on the beautiful grounds by the vineyards.
