What’s Cooking July 4 to 11, 2017?

Cheers to the beginning of warmer weather, colder drinks and more locally-inspired dishes. Let’s make July the month where we aren’t waiting on the weekend – plan something fun every night of the week! Enjoy a glass of wine on a patio after work, head to trivia on Mondays or enjoy live music and local drinks any night of the week.

July 5: Wednesday at The Market

Head to the Wolfville Farmers’ Market on Wednesday nights – for live music, great local products, take-away dinners or the $10 community supper. Taste members: Fox Hill Cheese, Helen B’s Preserves, Benjamin Bridge.

July 5: Yogi’s Night Out

Do you enjoy yoga, great local beer or delicious food? Your ticket includes an evening of yoga in Downtown Sydney and a drink at Governor’s Pub to help celebrate their new beer garden. While there, grab a bite and enjoy some local musical talent. All proceeds from this event go to United Way Cape Breton to help diminish child poverty. More info: Yogi’s Night Out

July 6: Luckett Wines on the Water

July 8: Propeller’s Gottingen St. Block Party

Head to Gottingen Street this Saturday and be entertained with a free concert showcasing some great Nova Scotia talent, and even better Nova Scotia beer. July 10: Durty Nelly’s Trivia

July 1-7: Cape Breton Kitchen Fest

July 6: Live at the Lodge

July 28: Nova Scotia Lobster Dinner

July 29: Night two of the Georges Island Dinner Series is a Nova Scotia Craft Beer & BBQ! Local craft beer paired with BBQ favourites, talk about elevating your normal backyard BBQ (with a view).

July 30: Night three of the Georges Island Dinner Series is Sip n’ Shuck. The world is your oyster as you sip n’ shuck your way through this pearly evening.   Featuring Nova Scotia oysters, mussels, and seafood paired with local craft beer, cider and spirits.

August 11 & 12: The Halifax Seaport Beerfest is back and with 110 producers discussing over 300 unique products, you won’t want to miss out. Taste members you’ll want to sample include: Boxing Rock Brewing CoBulwark Cider and Garrison Brewing Co.

September 29 & 30: Savour as many oysters as your heart (and stomach) desires at the annual Halifax Oyster Festival. Two delectable days of high quality local shellfish to sip, sample and enjoy. Be sure to sample some Taste members participating like Sober Island OystersEel Lake Oyster Farm and Bay Enterprises Limited.
