Rest, renew & relax this week with our Taste of Nova Scotia members. Try new brews, bake croissants, do yoga and indulge this weekend at brunch. With so many Taste member events what will you pick? Read below to find out what’s cooking this week.

March 5th: Bombay Festival at Founders House

Join Founders House as they bring back their most popular event of last winter – their Bombay Festival! Meal will include popadoms with mango chutney and yoghurt mint sauce, homemade vegetable samosa’s, and choice of butter chicken, chicken vindaloo or chana masala for your main. Event will take place from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Dinner $35 per person plus tax and gratuity.

March 6th: Friday Cask Night at Propeller Brewing

Did you know every Friday, Propeller Brewing’s Gottingen Street Tasting Room features a special cask beer? Stop by to enjoy snacks from their neighbours Real Fake Meats and try this week’s special cask. Event takes place from 5 p.m. -12 a.m. Free entry.

March 7th: Croissant Classes at The Old Apothecary

This week at The Old Apothecary jump into a four hour croissant class that will have you laminating dough, shaping butter and chocolate croissants, and baking from fresh and frozen. Leave the class with a pack of croissants and a fresh baked pastry for good measure. To book email classes@theoldapothecary.com $150/per person

March 8th: Bends & Brews – Gentle Yoga at Boxing Rock

Boxing Rock Taps

Join Boxing Rock Brewing Company in their Shelburne taproom for an hour long yoga class this weekend. After the practice there will be a healthy breakfast and an option for a beverage of your choice. Wear clothes you are comfortable moving in, and bring your mat. Event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. $20 +tax.

March 8th: The Bees Knees Honey Wheat Ale Launch at Garrison

The Garrison gals are excited to announce this years International Women’s Day brew – “The Bee’s Knees” Honey Wheat Ale. With every can purchased, 50 cents will be donated to the NSCC Foundation in support of Women in Trades. Stop by the Garrison Seaport Taproom on March 8th  for their maker’s and vintage market in celebration of the launch.

March 8th: 6th Annual Maple Brunch Buffet

It’s maple season in Nova Scotia! To celebrate, The Flying Apron is hosting two Maple Brunch Buffets! Join them on Sunday, March 8th or Sunday, March 15th from 10 a.m. –  3 p.m. for a delicious, maple-inspired brunch.  Reservations are required. Call to book your table 902-633-2300. Kitchen Door Cooking classes (March): With classes on everything from tacos to vegetarian dishes, there’s lots to choose from this month at Kitchen Door. They also featuring several different styles of cooking class, that allow you to make and take, eat your creations on site, and more.

Craft Beer Festival (March 21st): Join breweries from across the province as they celebrate the Nova Scotia Craft Beer Festival. You won’t find more Nova Scotia craft breweries under one roof. Regular ticket price includes access to the event, 12 – 4 oz beer samples, and a take-home glass. VIP ticket includes 1 hour earlier access to the event, 16 – 4 oz beer samples, and a special take-home glass.
