November 14th-20th: Halifax Taco Week

Halifax Taco Week starts this Thursday – for a whole week you can eat taco’s to raise funds for Feed Nova Scotia! November 15th: Tree for Boston Send-Off

Since 1971, Nova Scotia has been giving a Christmas tree to the people of Boston for their aid after the Halifax Explosion. So far, that’s 48 incredible memories! This year’s 45ft white spruce is from Pictou County! We invite you to join us from 12:00 p.m. –  1:00 p.m. for the send-off celebration. We will have delicious treats to give out from Mrs. MacGregor’s ShortbreadsSchoolhouse Gluten-Free Gourmet and hot apple cider from Noggins Corner Farm Market. Hope to see you there!

New Garrison Tap Room

Opening this Friday on Quinpool Rd in Halifax, the Garrison Brewing Company Oxford Tap Room! The team is so excited to bring craft brewing to Quinpool and they cannot wait for what this exciting new chapter will bring. Be sure to stop in for some delicious craft beers.

November 16th: Winemakers Dinner

Planters Ridge Winery is hosting their first Winemakers Dinner in partnership with Founders House Dining & Drinks at the Halifax Brewery Market. Enjoy a delicious four course meal thoughtfully paired with wines from Planters Ridge. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. with tickets priced at $145. See the Planters Ridge Facebook page for details.

November 16th: 18th Annual Christmas Tea & Sale

Join Prescott Group for the 18th Annual Christmas Tea & Sale for unique, handmade and local holiday gifts in North End, Halifax. Featuring items made by clients including cakes and cookies, tote bags, aprons, décor, art, new to you finds, silent auction, take-out or eat-in seafood chowder or chili, a candy shop and more! The event is happening from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.

November 16th: Holiday Parade of Lights

The Parade of Lights in Downtown Halifax is happening this Saturday and there are lots of Taste members in Downtown Halifax to visit for dinner before hand or a drink after the parade. Cooking with Chef Chris Pyne (November 18): Join Founders House Dining & Drinks head chef, Chris Pyne to create mouth-watering, elevated comfort food from locally sourced ingredients. Tickets are $55. See their Facebook page for details.

The Big Cheese (November 20): Learn how to cook a variety of delicious meals while enjoying a relaxing getaway with The Flying Apron Inn & Cookery . Join them November 20th to learn about some Nova Scotia cheese different ways to cook with it.

Master Class Tasting – Evolution of Sparkling (November 23): Head winemaker at Benjamin Bridge, Jean-Benoit Deslauriers and Chef Jason Lynch from Le Caveau Restaurant at Grand Pré Winery will be hosting an exciting tasting event. Sample five sparkling wines along with food pairings made by Jason Lynch. Tickets are $100. More details coming soon.

Grapevine Wreath Making (November 23-December 1): Avondale Sky Winery is offering their annual wreath making sessions over the course of two weekends between November 23-December 1. There is no registration needed, just show up between 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. to create your very own festive wreath.

Holiday Open House at Planters Ridge (November 30): For the first time, Planters Ridge Winery will be having their Barrel Cellar opened to the public to explore and bask in its enchanting aromas. You’ll get the chance to try pre-released wines and enjoy lovely shareable foods.

Try Before You Buy Wine Event (November 30): Join Lane’s Privateer Inn for the 2nd annual Try Before You Buy Wine Event with Harvest Wines of Halifax. There will be a vast selection of wine, beer and cider with appetizers to accompany your libations. Live music will only add to this fun kick off to the holiday season!

Vineyard, Vintage, Variety (December 1)Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards is hosting a 3V’s tasting series that offers an exclusive event to taste and purchase rare vintages at the winery.

Chef Nights at Sugar Moon (December 6-7): Join Sugar Moon Farm December 6 & 7 for Chef Claude’s Christmas Chef Nights! Experience incredible cuisine, exquisite wines and live music all in a sugar camp setting. Dinner tickets are $75 and wine pairings are $25. See their Facebook page details.

Christmas Open House with Gaspereau Vineyards (December 7th): From 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the December 7th, join Gaspereau Vineyards & Vine Side Patio for their holiday celebration! More event details to come.

Annual Chinese New Year 2019 – Year of the Rat (January 20, 2020): Come celebrate Chinese New Year 2020 – Year of the Rat with The Orient Chinese Cuisine. Enjoy a 10+ course dinner made by Chef Ivan Chan. Tickets: $88/person.
