September has been a beautiful month so far and an incredible start to our fall season in Nova Scotia. From the annual Festival of Wines to Mahone Bay’s Scarecrow Festival and Savour the Trail at Keji – there are incredible events happening across the province this week that you don’t want to miss out on.
Don’t forget! September is Apple Month at Taste of Nova Scotia and we can’t wait to share all of our delightful locally inspired recipes, experiences and ideas with you all month long!
September 25-29: NSLC Festival of Wines
NSLC’s Festival of Wines is back! Take some time this week to “wine” down, experience and enjoy wines from across the country, including award-winning wines from Nova Scotia. Discover local wine and food at Grand Tastings on Friday and Saturday. Local food will be provided by Taste members: Heartwood Restaurant, Harbour City Bar & Grill, Eel Lake Oysters and Comeau’s Sea Foods.

September 26-30: Buddy MacDonald at Keltic Lodge
Visit Keltic Lodge this week for an authentic, Nova Scotian culinary experience. Enjoy a seasonally fresh meal, paired with local Nova Scotia wine, and take in the sounds of Buddy MacDonald.

September 28-30: Scarecrow Fest
Head to Mahone Bay this weekend for their annual Scarecrow Festival that showcases over 250 creative scarecrow displays. While you take in the sights, be sure to stop and enjoy some delicious local food. Try home-smoked meats at Mateus Bistro, or a delicious and healthy lunch at Rebecca’s Restaurant. If you are looking for a drink while you sightsee, grab a coffee and a treat from the Biscuit Eater Cafe or The Barn Coffee and Social House – not a coffee drinker? The Tea Brewery has also got you covered this weekend in Mahone Bay.

September 29: Deep Roots in the Tangled Garden
Deep Roots Music Festival and Tangled Garden invite you to come out and enjoy a picnic concert in the garden tent, featuring Michelle Willis & Charlotte Cornfield on Saturday, Sept. 29th. Bring your own picnic or pre-order a picnic lunch from Tangled Garden. Local beer, cider and wine will be available on site!

September 29: Savour the Trail
Savour the Trail is a unique way to savour the fall at Keji. Enjoy a variety of nature-inspired and locally-sourced dishes and beverages while hiking among the beautiful fall scenery of Kejimkujik. It will satisfy your soul AND your palate!

Thanksgiving at WhitePoint ( October 4-8)– Gather at White Point for Thanksgiving Weekend! There’ll be live entertainment in the lounge and of course chef will have a traditional Thanksgiving Day feast ready for indulging in too.
Spirited Away in Lunenburg ( October 12-14)– Celebrate the growth of the Craft Spirits industry in Nova Scotia with a collection of fun, informative, delicious, playful events and workshops in the beautiful environment of Lunenburg.
Chef Night With Wild Caraway (October 19) — Sugar Moon Farm will be hosting a chef night featuring the Wild Caraway Restaurant and Café. The menu will be created around what’s available in their gardens, the seashore and the forest at that time.
