Whether you’re tapping into local craft beverages, cracking open a fresh caught lobster or diving into a bowl of seafood chowder – there’s something for everyone. Follow along for a few regional highlights from Yarmouth to Cape Breton.
South Shore
Picturesque beaches, historic towns, locally sourced seafood and craft beverages. More than 30 trail stops are scattered throughout this region!

- Chowder Trail
- Rebecca’s Restaurant: If you’re after a cute and cozy atmosphere paired with a bowl of chowder, stop #20 in Mahone Bay, is the spot for you.
- Grand Banker Bar & Grill: At stop #13, in Lunenburg, you can get a stamp on all three culinary trail passports!
Yarmouth & Acadian Shores
If you’re looking for fresh Nova Scotia seafood and beautiful, small town vibes head to Yarmouth and the Acadian Shores. With stops from all three trails across this region, it’s easy to fill your days with local seafood and drink!

- Rudder’s Seafood Restaurant & Brewpub: A stop that spans all three trails, head to this Yarmouth staple for a glass of their locally brewed beer, paired with chowder or lobster!

- Argyler Lodge & Restaurant: Crack open a lobster, watch the sunset over Lobster Bay and experience a gourmet getaway by the sea.
- Chowder Trail
- Comeau’s Sea Foods Ltd: Short on time but need your chowder fix? Head to stop #27 to buy their ready-to-cook chowder for when you get home.
Halifax Metro
The Halifax region is filled to the brim with amazing seafood and drink options. Grab your passports and an appetite for adventure as you explore the city.
- Good Cheer Trail
- Lake City Cider: Take the ferry to Dartmouth for a “Darkside Dry” cider on Lake City Cider’s patio.
- Garrison Brewing Co.: Head to one of Nova Scotia’s oldest craft breweries to grab a pint and catch a glimpse of one of Halifax’s visiting cruise ships.
- Lobster Trail
- Boondocks Restaurant: Located at Fisherman’s Cove, stop #1 has lobster rolls, dinners and more to satisfy your craving.
- Evan’s Fresh Seafoods & Restaurant: Enjoy your lobster with a perfect view of Halifax Harbour when you visit stop #4. Fun fact, they’re on the Chowder Trail too!
- Chowder Trail
- Inn on the Lake: Just minutes outside the city, stop #7 is a serene getaway to enjoy a bowl of seafood chowder and relax.
- Five Fishermen Restaurant: Located in one of Halifax’s most historic buildings, stop #5 on the chowder (and lobster) trail comes with local seafood and a history lesson.
Eastern Shore
If a laid-back lifestyle and ideal surfing conditions are your scene, you’ll want to bring your passports to Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore. Bonus – there are plenty of seafood and drink options along this coastline too!

- Authentic Seacoast & Rare Bird Craft Beer: At stop #82 in Guysborough, you’ll find unique products including Fortress Rum, Sea Fever Rum, Glynnevan Whisky, Virga Vodka and Rare Bird Craft Beer.
- Sober Island Brewing Company: With ‘Oyster Stout’ as their flagship beer, you’ll want to tell your friends about a stamp from stop #83.
- Lobster Trail
- The Henley House Pub & Restaurant: With options like lobster dinners, lobster rolls and more – this Sheet Harbour gem is a must see on the Eastern Shore. They’re on the Chowder Trail too!
- Chowder Trail
- Rose & Rooster Cafe: The second last stop on the Chowder Trail features a chowder filled to the brim with local haddock, shrimp, scallops and lobster.
Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley
A region known for it’s exceptional Nova Scotia wine, the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley have many seafood options too!
- Good Cheer Trail
- L’Acadie Vineyards: Specializing in traditional method sparkling wine, stop #49 will have you bubbling over the experience.
- Schoolhouse Brewery: In Windsor, stop #63 will school you on local craft beer. Head to their brewery for beers in a fun atmosphere.
- Raging Crow Distillery: Dill pickle vodka? Yes please. Stop #60, in North River, has a variety of experimental spirits sure to be a hit with the cocktail connoisseur in your group.
- Lobster Trail
- Hall’s Harbour Lobster Pound: If you get the chance to visit this region of the province, take it. The food at stop #30 is as exceptional as the view.
- Masstown Market: Stop #31 has it all! Live lobster, lobster dinners, lobster rolls, lobster menu options and they’re on the Chowder Trail too!
- Chowder Trail
- Bistro 22: Located in the heart of downtown Truro, you wont want to miss the chowder at stop #30.
- Founders House Dining: Make sure to stop at #33 to experience their award-winning seafood chowder.
Northumberland Shore
Let the warm waters of the Northumberland Shore wash away all your worries while you visit trail stops from Amherst to Antigonish!

- Tatamagouche Brewing Co.: At stop #75, enjoy a flight at this small, family owned and operated, certified organic craft brewery in the heart of Tatamagouche.
- Lobster Trail
- Snow Queen: The one and only lobster trail stop on the Northumberland Shore features lobster rolls you’ll want to write home about. They’re on the Chowder Trail too!
- Chowder Trail
- Main Street Cafe and Lounge: In Antigonish, stop #40’s chowder is packed with haddock, salmon, shrimp and scallops.
Cape Breton Island
In Cape Breton you’ll find stunning views, the world famous Cabot Trail, craft beverages and tonnes of fresh seafood.

- Route 19 Brewing: Delicious beer and a stunning view, stop #81 is the perfect way to kick-start your Cape Breton culinary adventure. They’re on the lobster and chowder trails too!
