Local Tastes of Hallowe’en

Halloween

3 Treats to Eat:

We all have that friend who LOVES Hallowe’en – join in on the fun this year by bringing these ghoulishly easy local treats to the party:

Spooky Apple Smiles
Pick up your favourite local apples from Noggins Corner Farm Market (I used honey crisp in the picture above). Cut them into quarters and shape like mouths. Spread Haskapa jam or a natural nut butter in the middle and add marshmallows or slivered almonds for teeth.

Cheesy Witch Brooms
Cut your favourite Fox Hill cheese into the shape of a broom and stick a pretzel in the top for the handle.

Gluten-Free Pizza Fingers
Use Valley Flaxflour bread mix to make bread sticks – bake for 15 minutes. Generously spread pizza sauce and Fox Hill cheese over top and bake for another 10-15 minutes. Top them with local red pepper “fingernails” and enjoy!

For beverages – try these Halloween drink recipes featuring local products from Ironworks, Bulwark Cider, Garrison and Luckett VineyardsThe Spooky Sipper or The Snakebite
