What’s Cooking: June 30 – July 8

This long weekend, culinary adventures can be found in everyone corner of the province. From live music to events at wineries, maple activities and cooking classes — keep reading to find out what’s cooking this weekend.

Old Fish Factory

This summer, the Old Fish Factory is partnering with the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society for a the music series Saturdays in the Park. Performances will take place at 2 p,m. at the Lunenburg Bandstand and 8:00 p.m. at the Old Fish Factory. This weekend catch Campbell & Johnston on Thursday, July 30 and Inn Echo on Saturday, July 2.  Find more information here.

Benjamin Bridge

Benjamin Bridge will be open Friday, July 1st and through the weekend from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Stop by the winery for a visit and to try their new collaboration rosé made in allyship with Glooscap First Nation!

The Sou’Wester Restaurant & Gift Shop

The Sou’Wester Restaurant & Gift Shop will be offering lots of activities this Canada Day. The day will begin with breakfast from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., followed by live music and a BQQ on the observation deck from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. For more information, visit here.

Boxing Rock Brewing Company

Stop by Boxing Rock Brewing Company for live music and local beer. Chett Buchanan will be playing July 1 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Green Wave will be performing July 2 at 7 p.m. There will be a $5 cover charge.

The Flying Apron Inn & Cookery

The Shore Club

Shore Club Lobster Suppers

The Shore Club is back for another busy summer of delicious lobster dishes and fun dances. This Saturday’s (July 2) dance will feature music from Shameless. Doors will  open at 9:30 p.m. and tickets will be available at the door.

Sugar Moon Farm

Craving maple? We’ve got the answer! Sugar Moon Farm will be continuing to host their Maple Magic package every Saturday all summer long. The event will include a fireside maple-inspired brunch, sugar-on-snow, an owner-led sugar camp tour and maple shopping. For more information, visit here.

Jost Vineyards

This Saturday, Jost Vineyards will be hosting a long weekend celebration on their patio. The event will take place from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. and will include live music from the Chris Brown Trio, wine tastings, door prizes and more! Visit for more information.
