It’s that time of year again – Apple Blossom season is here! Get ready to kick up your heels at the Apple Blossom Country Barn Dance at the Old Orchard Inn! Dust off your dancing shoes and prepare for a good old-fashioned barn dance with DJ Bryan from Mobile Music on Friday May 31. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the dance kicks off at 9 p.m., lasting until 1 a.m. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable night of fun; grab your tickets and get ready to boogie til the cows home!

Get ready for a day of family-friendly fun and discovery at the Cole Harbour Heritage Museum’s Fibre Frolic on June 1. This exciting event offers something for everyone. Experience the excitement of Fibre Frolic with sheep shearing, a colourful fibre marketplace, hands-on demonstrations, a wool discovery area for kids, and the Frolic Grill! Dive into new crafts, chat with fibre artisans, meet the sheep, and find the perfect materials for your next creation. Admission and parking are both free. Bulwark Cider

Join Bulwark Cider for Industry Nights on the first Sunday of the month, starting June 2 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. They’ll be pouring all your favourites with 50 per cent off and rotating food specials to pair. Why not pop by on Sunday and try their newly released flavour. the Barlett Pear! It’s a semi-dry cider boasting fruity notes and sweet aromas, making it the perfect refreshing beverage for a sunny Sunday.

Garrison Brewing Co.

Are you ready for a paws-itively delightful celebration? My Grandfather’s Cat is hosting a pet food giveaway at Garrison Brewing Co. to celebrate their three year anniversary! Head over to the brewery on June 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a day filled with fun, furry friends and freebies! They promise good times with be had by all — humans and pets alike!

In celebration, they will be giving away a truck full of free pet food! Pet food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Garrison products are also available for purchase serparately. Any surplus pet food will be generously donated to our friends at the SPCA and SHAID Tree Animal Shelter. Bring your pets, sip a craft beer and meet some furry companions.

Expect a day filled with giveaways, a delightful pet photo booth, and, of course, FREE pet food. Plus, why not stick around and enjoy a refreshing beer while you’re here?

June 8: Saltbox Brewing is partnering with the Epilepsy Association of the Maritimes. You can run 5km or walk 3km to support individuals and families affected by epilepsy. Fundraising starts with the run/walk and continues with various events at Saltbox throughout the day! Explore the run/walk route, enjoy music, and indulge in delicious food and drinks.

June 15: Get ready to celebrate love, diversity, and unity at Schoolhouse Brewing’s upcoming Pride Prom on June 15 from 7:30 p.m. to midnight. Get your sparkles and glam ready for the most fabulous party in Windsor, NS. This year’s theme is 80’s glamour, so prepare to shine. Enjoy live music by Height Requirement, indoor/outdoor bars, and dazzling decorations. More performers to be announced. Tickets are $45 and include a special edition Schoolhouse stainless glass.

June 18: Celebrate Father’s Day at The Long Table Social Club from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Canning, N.S. Dads dining with a family member will receive a complimentary first drink, so reserve your spot online to ensure a table for you and your dad on this busy day!

June 23rd: Leo’s Donair is hosting their third Annual Donair Festival from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m at 1920 St. Margarets Bay Road in Timberlea. It will feature all things… you guessed it… donair! Indulge in the official food of Halifax with donair burgers, donair sausages and donair fingers. Bring the family for lunch or dinner and be sure to come hungry! All proceeds and profits will go to the IWK.
