October 22-27: Devour! The Food Film Fest

Devour is an international festival celebrating cinema, food & wine culture that takes place in Wolfville. The annual six-day festival hosts 100+ events, high profile chefs and celebrates filmmakers from around the world. Taste members such as Le Caveau Restaurant at Grand Pré, Benjamin Bridge, and Lightfoot and Wolfville will be hosting events. October 24: Celebrating Tidal Bay

The Flying Apron Cookery is hosting a tidal bay inspired cooking class with a delicious wine-inspired menu. This hands-on classes offer you the opportunity to practice new skills as you cook alongside Chef Chris in a 3-hour class.  When you’re finished cooking you get to relax and enjoy a meal with your classmates. October 24: Taco 101 with Kitchen Door

This Thursday, Kitchen Door will be having a workshop for all you taco lovers out there. You will learn how to make your own tortillas with ease, and then dress them up with braised pork, crispy haddock, chipotle cold-water shrimp, and all the taco fixins! If you need more convincing… they are also making churros! Check out their Facebook page for more details.

October 25-27: Spirited Away in Lunenburg

This weekend will be a celebration of Nova Scotia Craft Spirit Distillers and the cocktails we create with them! Events, workshops, gala and food will be enjoyed. You can expect to see some of our Taste members featured: Authentic Seacoast Distillery, Barrelling Tide Distillery, Coldstream Clear Distillery, Compass Distillers, Ironworks Distillery, Raging Crow Distillery, Steinhart Distillery, Still Fired Distilleries, and Tangled Garden Distilling. October 26: The Harvest High Tea at Planters Ridge

Spend a perfect afternoon with family and friends over a luxurious high tea at Planters Ridge Winery in Port Williams! Indulge in an afternoon Harvest High Tea which includes a complimentary glass of bubbly, finger sandwiches, scones, mini desserts and fine teas. Relax to live music and partake in wine tasting for an additional fee.

October 26: Halloween Party at Schoolhouse Brewery

Get in the Halloween spirit with Schoolhouse Brewery on Saturday, October 26th from 8pm-11pm. Dress in your most ghastly of outfits and get ready to (Oogie) boogie! Prizes will be won and brews will be served. See their Facebook page for event details.

Now-Until October 31st: Nova Scotia Harvest Wine Festival Events

Happy Wine Harvest! Ongoing from now until the end of October, you can join Taste of Nova Scotia members as they plan a collection of wine inspired events, dinners, tours, packages and more. For a full list of events, click here.

Nelloween at Durty Nelly’s (October 31st): Get a costume ready and celebrate Halloween with Durty Nelly’s on Thursday, October 31st from 9pm-2am! Prizes will be given away to best costumes and their will be live music all evening. No cover as always.

Halloween at Compass (October 31st): Compass Distillers is welcoming the vampires, witches, ghouls and more for a Halloween Extravaganza! Live music, tricks, treats and costume contest from 7:30-10:30! Stay spooky!

4th Annual Farm to Table Dinner (November 1): Please join the Old Orchard Inn and The Kidney Foundation of Canada – Atlantic Branch’s 4th Annual Farm-to-Table Dinner, a taste of all things local! The evening begins with tasting stations featuring LOCAL vendors serving craft beer, wines and spirits; a delicious harvest meal featuring local ingredients; and wraps up with our spirited live and silent auctions.

The Wines of France (Starting November 5): This is a 6-week, in-depth course designed for the beginner wine-enthusiast looking to develop their knowledge and understanding of French wine at Obladee Wine Bar. Class will be held each Tuesday evening from 6-8:30 beginning November 5, 2019 and ending December 10, 2019.

Holiday Festival & Christmas Open House (November 8): Start your holiday season with Jost Vineyards Holiday Festival Weekend and Christmas Open House. Sample complimentary punch and nibbles and enjoy holiday music. Tastings, door prize, wine sales, and more!

18th Annual Christmas Tea & Sale (November 16): Join the Prescott Group for the best event to attend for unique, handmade and local holiday gifts in North End, Halifax. Featuring items made by clients: cakes & cookies, tote bags, aprons, décor, art, New to You finds, silent auction, take-out/eat-in seafood chowder or chili, candy shop and more!
