Easter Eats Around Nova Scotia

Easter always has a way of sneaking up on us, but across the province, local producers and chefs have been busy getting ready for one of the most delicious weekends of the season.
There’s no need to go on an egg hunt to find the details – we’ve already done the digging for you! Read on for our guide to local dining, activities, recipes, and special products to help you celebrate.

Everyone loves a good holiday meal, but not everyone wants to be the one to cook it!
Luckily, there’s no shortage of great places to eat around Nova Scotia, and several of them are hosting Easter brunches and dinners that are worth checking out.

Hope Blooms Community Supper
Hope Blooms is hosting a Spring/Easter Community Supper on Thursday, April 9 at 5:30p.m., where you can join them for great food, music, and community connection.

Easter Brunch Buffet at Kiju’s Restaurant
On Sunday, April 5, join Kiju’s Restaurant for an Easter celebration!
Tickets are $40 per person, plus tax and gratuity, with 15% off for seniors. Kids 12 and under are $19, plus tax and gratuity.
Three seating times to choose from:11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m.

Easter Brunch at Seaport Social
On Sunday, April 5, Seaport Social is hosting a family-friendly Easter buffer, with live entertainment and a visit from the Easter Bunny!
Tickets are $83.30 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Kids aged 5–12 are $41.65, while children under 5 eat free.

Good Friday Fish Fry at The Flying Apron Inn & Cookery
On Friday April 3, head to the The Flying Apron for a Good Friday fish fry!
Offered from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., you can choose between their 2 pc Beer-Battered Haddock or Fish Burger. Both come with a side of house fries and coleslaw.
It’s $22 per person, with both dine in or takeaway options available.

Easter Bunny Brunch at The Quarterdeck Resort
On Saturday, April 4, the Grill Restaurant at The Quarterdeck Resort will be hosting Bunny Brunch from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Along with the regular breakfast menu, a a kid’s pancake breakfast with bacon and fresh fruit will be offered for $13 plus tax,
While you dine, enjoy a visit & photo with the Easter Bunny before their resort-wide Egg Hunt!

No Easter basket is complete without the perfect sweet treat (or a few). The companies below make some of the best handcrafted baked goods and chocolates around, and luckily for us, they’re now offering special Easter themed treats for a limited time!

Chapel Cove Chocolate

Located in New Glasgow, Chapel Cove makes delicious, handcrafted chocolates for every occasion!
This Easter, they’re offering a variety of seasonal treats, including classic bunnies and customizable eggs.

Gourmandises Avenue Chocolaterie

If you’re in the Dartmouth area, head to Gourmandises Avenue, where all the creations are made by trained French chocolatiers!
For the Easter season, they have a range of deluxe, hand-painted and ganache filled chocolates.
Their storefront at 1249 Cole Harbour Rd., is open this weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Rousseau Chocolatier

In the heart of Halifax, Rousseau creates craft chocolates that are inspired by Nova Scotian culture.
To celebrate Easter, they’ve created various fine treats, including hand-painted chocolate Robin’s Eggs, adorable barn yard friends, and of course the classic Easter Bunny in dark, milk and white chocolate.
