Nova Scotia is home to incredible strawberry producers province-wide, making it easy to get your hands on delicious local berries throughout the summer season. There’s options for everyone, whether you pick them yourself, visit one of the many Farmers’ Markets of Nova Scotia, visit a local independent retailer, or purchase them during your weekly grocery run.

Stirling Fruit Farms’ U-Pick

For those looking to enjoy the sunshine that comes with strawberry season, Stirling Fruit Farms‘ u-pick is the perfect day-trip destination. Make some memories while enjoying sweet berries straight from the farm, as fresh as they get! This is also a great solution for those who are extra picky about their produce. If you don’t wish to pick your own berries, check their website for a Stirling Farm Market near you.

Country Magic

Country Magic strawberries are grown in Greenwich, where the unique climate maximizes the sweet and succulent flavour of each individual berry. You can purchase their products at Sobeys, Atlantic Superstore, Walmart, and several independent retailers.

Millen Farms

Located in the Great Village area, Millen Farms pick their strawberries every morning and evening, they are then shipped directly from the field to the buyer. If you want a taste of these fresh berries, find them at Sobeys, Masstown Market, the Halifax Seaport Market, and more independent retailers.

Strawberry Socials

The strawberry social is a long-standing tradition that celebrates the arrival of strawberry season. Nothing brings a community together like delicious strawberry treats – think shortcake, ice cream, and strawberries and cream – our mouths are watering just thinking about it! If you’ve yet to be a part of such an event, you still have time to place it on your summer bucket-list!

Although most events and get-togethers across the province aren’t taking place this year, you can still gather your friends and family in your back yard to celebrate all things strawberry.
