Time to indulge in countless burgers as we kick-off Halifax Burger Week! When you’ve had enough burgers (is that even possible?) head to local wineries for unique seminars and interactive events to unleash your inner wine geek!

This March – get ready for Maple Madness because we are celebrating MAPLE MONTH at Taste of Nova Scotia. The maple trees are now being tapped and we are ready to celebrate all things maple.

March 22 to 28: Halifax Burger Week

One of the greatest weeks of the year, Halifax Burger Week, starts this Thursday! Satisfy your burger cravings at one of the 125 restaurants participating in the 6th annual event. Some must try burgers include the fried spaghetti and garlic bread burger from Harbour City Bar & Grill, the Six Meat Under from Lot Six and the burger macarons from The Old Apothecary!

March 23: Celtic Eclectic

Check out Celtic Eclectic live at The Grand Banker at 9 p.m.. No cover charge. Call 902-634-3300 to reserve your seats. While you’re there, indulge in the popular and delicious Lunenburger, made with fresh, local ground beef, Nova Scotia lobster and topped with a bacon-wrapped scallop!

March 24: Experience Avondale Sky

Come learn our secrets! This exclusive behind the scenes experience is a must-do for anyone interested in Nova Scotia wines. Experience Avondale Sky is a new series of educational and interactive events offered at Avondale Sky Winery. Each event will combine a uniquely staged multi-course meal featuring locally-sourced ingredients, Avondale Sky’s award-winning wines, live music, local culture and hands-on learning.

March 24: Sensory Seminar, Tidal Bay Edition

Join Planters Ridge and local sommelier, Amy Savoury for a special Sensory Seminar with a focus on Nova Scotia’s appellation wine, Tidal Bay. Amy will share her wealth of knowledge, while guiding you through a unique blending experience where you can bring together your favourite flavours and aromatics. This session is great for those with limited wine knowledge, as well as those looking to try their hand at blending wines.

March 24: Farmers’ Market Supper

Take part in Lincoln Street Food’s Farmers’ Market Supper at 6 p.m. on March 24. The dinner includes five plates accompanied by wine and craft beer pairings.

March 24: Tribute to Maple Dinner

Don’t miss out on  Amherst Shore Country Inn’s tribute to maple dinner. First course: roasted carrot and maple soup. Second course: grilled portabello with maple buttermilk ranch dressing. Third course: choice of grilled fillet of salmon or maple brined pork tenderloin. Dessert: maple cheesecake or a maple bavarian cream tart!

 

Easter Egg Hunt Wine Tour (March 30 & 31) – Join in the fun on this special tour to celebrate Easter! The tour includes a private wine tasting at Avondale Sky Winery, Lightfoot & Wolfville and Grand Pre Wines. At each winery there will be an Easter Egg Hunt. Find the most chocolate eggs and win a bottle of wine!

Chocolate & Wine Seminar (April 14) – Join Certified Chocolate Makers at Planters Ridge for an in-depth look at the history and biology of bean-to-bar chocolate making. You will also have the opportunity to pair wines with the chocolate and learn how the flavours can compliment each other.

Saltscapes Expo (April 20 to 22) – Get a taste of some of the best culinary experiences Nova Scotia has to offer at the annual Saltscapes Expo.

2018 Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week (April 27 to May 6) – Hosted by the Craft Brewers Association of Nova Scotia, it is the largest celebration of craft beer in eastern Canada. It features over 15 events hosted all over Nova Scotia and draws thousands of craft beer enthusiasts.

DELISH: An Epicurean Soirée (April 28) – An all-inclusive evening of sweet & savoury dishes, wine, cocktails, cider + more!

FULL HOUSE Craft Beer Fest 2018 (May 5) – The flagship event for Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week is returning for its fourth year, showcasing a huge selection of beers from all around the province.

12 Tides (May 11) – Discover Nova Scotia’s premium white wine at the Tidal Bay Annual Release and Tasting Event, hosted at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on May 11, 2018, from 7-10pm.

Devour! Fox Harb’r Weekend Getaway (May 18 to 20) – Fox Harb’r Resort is delighted to host once again the Nova Scotia created food & film festival, a celebration of culinary and cinema, with an added splash of comedy. Hosted by CBC personality, stand-up comic, actor and chef Ali Hassan.

East Coast Cider Festival (June 16) – That’s right folks, the East Coast Cider Festival back for another year. 2018 will be bigger and better, there will also be the option to choose between one of two sessions.
